Mallorca
Mallorca’s northern region, running from Formentor to Cala Ratjada, boasts a stunning coastline backed by pine woods and bathed by the calm waters of its two superb bays. Beyond the town of Can Picafort lies an unspoilt protected area with a wealth of natural flora and fauna. North Countryside
This is the northern area, between Alcudia and Artà, which does not have a coast, but does have large country houses and extensive green spaces. These are generally areas which are very well protected against overdevelopment.
Alcudia Bay
Here you will find Alcudiamar marina www.alcudiamar.es for sea lovers, the Mal Pas – Bonaire housing development and its Cocodrilo marina www.marinadebonaire.com, which are located very close to Alcudia, just opposite Formentor and Puerto de Pollensa, closing the large bay at the north of the island. Most of the hotels in the northern part of the island are located in the northeastern area, as well as the long beaches in Alcudia, Costa de los Pinos, Playa de Muro and Can Picafort. Byeond this area, there is group of beautiful and unspoilt beaches starting from Son Serra de Marina. Colonia de Sant Pere residential area is located at the end of this stretch of coast and it includes a marina, www.clubnautic-coloniadesantpere.com. Cap Farrutx and Cala Ratjada are found beyond Colonia de Sant Pere and are the last areas making up the northern region.
Pollensa Bay
The Hotel Barceló Formentor is located on the Formentor peninsula in the northwest area. This is Majorca’s most northern peninsula.
